Glowy Sugaring provides hair removal, an ancient Middle -Eastern practice, similar to waxing, but the paste sticks to the hair rather than the skin, resulting in less redness, pain, and inflammation. Moreover, since the mixture comprises natural ingredients, it causes less irritation and washes off easily with water. However, like waxing, improper procedure or undisclosed skin conditions could lead to painful ingrown hairs, infections, or bruising. When clients communicate effectively with the trained professional about their skin, the outcome is smooth skin that can last up to 6 weeks.
Please be aware of the following information and possible risks. Please initial:
- I understand there are certain contraindications that would preclude me from receiving sugaring hair removal, such as uncontrolled diabetes, melanoma, open wounds, varicose veins, and sunburn.
- I understand that the use of (AHA) alpha hydroxy or glycolic acids, Retin-a, Renova, or Accutane within 72 hours of waxing is contraindicated and may cause the skin to lift or peel.
- I understand that the use of tanning beds and/or sun exposure immediately after sugaring hair removal is contraindicated.
- I understand that sugaring may result in bruising, ingrown hairs, and skin irritation, redness or inflammation.
- I have cited all conditions and circumstances regarding my health history, medications being taken, and any past reactions to products or medications.
- I understand that sugaring hair removal may permanently damage hair follicles, resulting in permanent hair loss.
- I understand that if I have any concerns, I will address these with my skin care specialist. I give permission to my skin care specialist to perform the sugaring hair removal procedure we have discussed, and will hold him/her and his/her staff harmless and nameless from any liability that may result from this treatment. I have accurately answered the questions above, including all known allergies, prescription drugs, conditions, or products I am currently ingesting or using topically. I understand my skin care specialist will take every precaution to minimize or eliminate negative reactions as much as possible. In the event I have additional questions or concerns regarding my treatment, I will consult with my physician immediately.
Skin Care, Facials and Peels: Please note that certain skin care treatments can have side effects such as immediate pinkness, rosy tone or “sun burn” appearance, tightness, peeling, flaking, swelling, tenderness, dryness or itching etc.
Massage: Glowy Sugaring hires licensed and separately insured independent contractors to administer Massage Therapy treatments
New client policies
This is Glowy Sugaring Santa Monica – I appreciate you ! Please remember not to shave between appointments for better results and a less painful experience. Your hair should be about 1/8th of an inch (height of 2 stacked quarters). Please, wait a minimum of 2 weeks after shaving 3 weeks after sugaring /waxing. Note that waxing may be more painful during your menstrual period.
Reschedule policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule, kindly notify us before 8:00am to avoid a 50% penalty fee which will be charged automatically per our cancellation policy.
